THE UNEXPECTED THOUGHTS ABOUT SURAH AL-FIL

Surah al-Fil is not just about the story of King Abrahah who wanted to attack the Kaabah. This Surah actually serves as motivation for the fighters of truth to believe that no matter how big the plans of the enemies of Islam may be, Allah’s plan will always prevail.

1. Abrahah’s plan is not a small matter. Preparing dozens of gigantic elephants as destroyers, who can then walk hundreds of kilometers across the Sahara desert between Yemen and Mecca, requires extensive training and a large financial budget.
2. Attacking Baitullah is also no small matter. The Quran itself refers to it as a place of worship and the first shelter for humanity on the face of the earth. The attack that will be carried out is not just an attack on a city, but also an attack on security and humanity itself.
3. The counterattack force of the Abrahah army, which is a group of birds carrying stones like volcanic rocks, is also not a small matter. Indeed, this event is very strange and amazing for every eye that sees how this air force, with full discipline, as if receiving instructions from an unseen power, has successfully shot down their enemies without a single stray bullet falling wastefully to the ground.
4. The fate of Abraha’s army that was shot is not a small matter. In the blink of an eye, as a result of the barrage of stones possibly brought from Jahannam, the bodies of Abraha’s soldiers were riddled with holes, like leaves devoured by worms.
5. This moment happening is not a small matter either. When this event occurs, the last Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم who will bring an end to the lineage of the prophets is in the womb of a mother, counting the days until he emerges into the world, saving civilization until the end of time.

No matter how big the plans of Allah’s enemies, no matter how great and mighty they appear like “elephants,” it is always Allah’s plan that will overcome the conspiracies of His enemies, throughout time.

The story of the Quran, a story that always repeats itself. This is not just any surah. Reading it with contemplation, surely provides spiritual strength.
